Cannabis medicinal no tratamento da epilepsia infantil na Austrália

Tara O’Connell suffered from debilitating childhood epilepsy. Her life was at risk. After exhausting traditional treatment options, her family, who live in Australia, turned to medical cannabis in desperation.

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of sensory disturbances, loss of consciousness or seizures, associated with abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

According to the witness mother, the improvements were significant. It was a dream to be able to see her beautiful, smart daughter smile and do normal things again.

The girl’s case involves several people concerned about those who need treatment: the family, health professionals, growers and legislators.

Around the world scientists and doctors are dedicated to studying the health benefits of cannabis.
